Ship it with Serverpod: official rules
1. Who runs the contest
The contest is run by Serverpod AB (org. nr 559337-1213), Sjöbjörnsvägen 46, 117 67 Stockholm, Sweden ("Serverpod", "we", "us"). Questions and complaints: support@serverpod.dev.
2. Dates
- Entry opens: when these rules are published.
- Entry closes: November 9, 2026 at 23:59 CET. We do not judge entries received after this time.
- Winner announced: November 17, 2026.
- We use the time on our servers to decide when we received an entry.
3. Who can enter
You can enter if all of these are true:
- You are 18 or older and old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live.
- You can lawfully open and pay for a Serverpod Cloud account at serverpod.dev.
- You are not an employee, contractor or board member of Serverpod AB, or a member of their family or household. Companies owned or controlled by these people cannot enter either.
- You are not resident in, or entering from, Brazil, the Canadian province of Quebec, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Belarus, Crimea, the so-called Donetsk People's Republic, the so-called Luhansk People's Republic, or other areas of Ukraine not under Ukrainian government control.
- You, and any company you enter for, are not listed on, or owned or controlled by someone listed on, an EU, UN, UK or US sanctions list.
- Entering is not prohibited where you live. The contest is void where prohibited.
Entering for a company. You can enter on behalf of a company if you are authorised to accept these rules for it. The company is then the entrant and receives any prize. You are responsible for checking that your employer allows you or the company to accept the prize.
4. What you can enter
Your product must be real and either:
- in production with real users, or
- ready to launch, which means it is built and ready to be hosted.
The product must use a Serverpod backend. You must own the product or be authorised to submit it. The product must not break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
5. How to enter
Fill in the entry form and accept these rules. You can send one entry per person and one entry per product. If you send more than one, we judge only the first one we received.
Entering is free. You pay only your normal internet costs.
6. Prize and participant offer
Prize (one winner):
- Three 1-hour advisory video sessions with a Serverpod engineer for the winner's team. The sessions are advice on the winner's product and its use of Serverpod and Serverpod Cloud. They do not include building features or ongoing support. We agree the topic of the sessions with the winner. The sessions must take place within 6 months of the announcement.
- USD 2,000 of Serverpod Cloud credit, added to the winner's account. The credit pays for usage and platform fees. It expires 12 months after we add it.
- A thank-you gift for the winner's team. The gift is a physical item that we choose. We ask for a delivery address when we contact the winner. If we cannot deliver to the winner's country, we offer an alternative of similar value.
- The credit and the gift have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. We do not offer a cash alternative.
Participant offer (every eligible entry):
Every entry that passes the eligibility check in section 7 gets a participant offer. This is an offer, not a prize. We send it by email on November 17, 2026 as a promo code.
- The code gives USD 60 of credit for Serverpod Cloud platform fees. That pays the Growth plan platform fee (USD 20 per month) for 3 months.
- You can use the code once per account, by December 1, 2026. The credit is valid for 3 months from the day you redeem it.
- The credit does not pay for usage. Usage (compute, storage, database and other metered items) is billed at normal prices.
- The Growth plan needs a payment card on file. When the credit runs out, the platform fee is billed at the normal price each month until you cancel or change plan. You can cancel at any time by deleting the project.
- The offer cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
If we cannot provide the prize or the offer for reasons outside our control, we will offer a replacement of equal or greater value.
7. How the jury decides
The jury is three Serverpod team members. If a juror cannot take part, we replace them with another Serverpod team member.
Step 1, eligibility check. We check each entry against sections 3 to 5. An entry passes or fails.
Step 2, scoring. Each juror scores each eligible entry from 1 (low) to 5 (high) on:
- Traction. Real users, usage or other evidence that people want the product.
- Plan. How clear and credible the answer to "Where are you taking this?" is.
- What you'd do with it. How the prize would help the product reach its next milestone.
The three criteria have equal weight. A juror who knows an entrant personally does not score that entry. We rank entries by their average score across the jurors who scored them.
Step 3, final decision. The jury discusses the five highest-ranked entries and picks the winner by majority vote. If the vote is tied, the entry with the higher average score for "What you'd do with it" wins. If that is also tied, the jury discusses again and decides by majority vote. We never use a random draw.
Your answer to the optional question "Can we celebrate you?" does not affect judging. The jury does not see it.
We keep the score sheets as a record of the decision. The jury's decision is final. If you think we made a mistake in applying these rules, contact us at support@serverpod.dev.
8. Telling the winner
We email the winner by November 13, 2026. The winner must reply within 7 days to confirm they meet these rules and to give the details we need to deliver the prize and meet tax reporting duties. If the winner does not reply in time, is not eligible, or declines the prize, we offer it to the next-ranked entry.
We announce the result on November 17, 2026 at https://serverpod.dev/blog/ship-it-with-serverpod. We publish the winning product's name. We publish the winner's personal name, photo or quotes only if they agree.
9. Taxes
Winners are responsible for any taxes, duties and fees on their prize where they live. Prizes may be taxable. Where the law requires it, we report the prize to tax authorities, for example to Skatteverket for winners resident in Sweden.
10. Your entry and your content
You keep all rights to your product and entry. You allow Serverpod to view, use and test the product and read your answers only to run and judge the contest. Only the jury and the staff running the contest see your answers.
If you answer yes to the optional question "Can we celebrate you?", we may contact you about featuring your product on our website and social channels, in case studies and in other promotional material. We ask for your approval before we publish anything. Answering is optional and does not affect judging. You can withdraw at any time by emailing support@serverpod.dev.
11. Disqualification
We may disqualify an entry, or withdraw the prize or the offer, if the entrant is not eligible, breaks these rules, gives false information or tries to manipulate the contest, or if the product is unlawful, infringing or offensive.
12. Changes and cancellation
We change or cancel the contest only if something outside our reasonable control stops it from running fairly, such as fraud, technical failure or a change in law. We do not change the rules in a way that harms entrants after they have entered. We post any change on this page.
13. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Serverpod is not liable for lost, late or incomplete entries, or for technical problems outside our control. Nothing in these rules limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including for gross negligence or intent, or any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
14. Personal data
Serverpod AB is the controller of the data in your entry. We use it to run and judge the contest, contact entrants, plan the winner's sessions, deliver the prize and the offer, and meet accounting and tax duties. If you win, we use your delivery address only to send the gift. We keep the score sheets to handle questions and complaints. If you answer yes to "Can we celebrate you?", we also use your contact details for that, based on your consent.
Our privacy policy describes your rights and how to contact us. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
15. Law and disputes
Swedish law governs these rules. Disputes go to the Swedish courts, with Stockholm District Court as the first instance. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in your home courts where the law allows.
16. Language
These rules are written in English.
